Resourceful Women April Newsletter
2026 continues to build strong momentum at Resourceful Women, with March and April proving to be incredibly exciting months for our growing community.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen continued growth, deeper connections and some very special milestones. Most notably, Sienna Tamati has been announced as a finalist in the Women in Industry Awards, taking place in Sydney this June. This recognition reflects the dedication, passion and work that has gone into building Resourceful Women over the past 18 months.
This achievement would not be possible without the ongoing support of Dani Tamati and the incredible community backing Resourceful Women. Our mission remains clear, to connect great women with great businesses, educate women on opportunities within the mining and resources industry, and support them in finding pathways with companies that value their skills and potential.
We’re proud to play a part in building a safe, inclusive and progressive industry, led by strong, supportive people. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Resourceful Women and the values we stand for.
If you’re new here, welcome. Resourceful Women exists to create genuine connections, amplify experience and support women at every stage of their career, whether you’re just starting out, transitioning into mining or looking to grow and lead.
March Sundowner: Leveraging Your Network
In March, we hosted our Sundowner focused on Leveraging Your Network, bringing together men and women from across the industry for an evening of connection and learning.
Managing Director, Dani Tamati, led a practical LinkedIn workshop, guiding attendees through how to set up and optimise their profiles to best represent their skills and experience. The session was designed to help attendees build confidence in presenting themselves professionally and to stay connected with others beyond the event.
Despite the weather, we had a fantastic turnout and are grateful to everyone who joined us. It was great to see so many meaningful conversations happening throughout the evening.
All attendees should have now received a copy of the LinkedIn presentation, and event photos are available to view on our website.
May Sundowner: FIFO as a Family
Our next Resourceful Women Sundowner is fast approaching, and we’re excited to announce our May event.
Theme: FIFO as a Family
Date: 22nd May 2026
We’ll be joined by Vicky Pellowe from The FIFO Family Project, who will share her experience as a FIFO worker, a FIFO partner and part of a FIFO family. Vicky is a strong advocate for supporting FIFO families and will provide valuable insight into navigating the realities of balancing FIFO work and family life.
This event is ideal for current FIFO workers with children, those considering starting a family, or individuals looking to enter the FIFO lifestyle while maintaining a strong family foundation. It’s also a valuable opportunity for companies to better understand how to support their FIFO workforce, particularly working parents, while connecting with job-ready candidates in a meaningful way.
Tickets are now live and available, and we encourage you to secure yours early. Moving forward, Resourceful Women events will be held bi-monthly, creating even more opportunities to connect with both candidates and industry professionals.
Become a Resourceful Women Member
As our community continues to grow, so does the value of being part of the Resourceful Women network.
Recently, we hosted a Thrive and Lead Her members catch-up, a relaxed dinner designed to bring members together, strengthen connections and continue building a supportive community.
It was a great opportunity for members to meet one another and share their experiences.
We have more exclusive member events planned, including upcoming roundtable sessions at our new office. These sessions will provide a space for open discussion, sharing insights and exploring how we can continue to support women and drive positive change across the mining and resources industry.
If you’re looking to be part of a network of driven, like-minded women who are actively shaping the future of the industry, we encourage you to explore our membership options.
Out and About in the Industry
It’s been a busy and productive period for the Resourceful Women team, with continued involvement across a range of industry events and initiatives.
We’re looking forward to the upcoming WITTI (Women in the Tyre Industry) networking sundowner on the 15th of May at the Rose & Crown in Guildford.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for those exploring new pathways into the industry, as well as anyone looking to expand their network and connect with industry professionals.
For more information on the WITTI Sundowner please contact Melissa Latter on LinkedIn
We’ve also been actively attending CEO’s for Gender Equity events. Sienna recently attended an event at Fortescue Headquarters, connecting with a room full of individuals who are all working toward the shared goal of creating more inclusive and supportive workplaces. Dani has also attended recent sessions, continuing to strengthen these important connections.
Outside of mining, we’ve been engaging with RugbyWA, supporting community initiatives and connecting with others who are passionate about building strong communities across Western Australia.
In addition, we continue to attend monthly WA Mining Club events, allowing us to stay up to date with industry developments, strengthen relationships and ensure we’re providing the most relevant insights and opportunities to our community. Whilst also connecting with industry professionals looking to support women in mining and resources.
Sienna also recently attended a YMPP event alongside new Resourceful Women and THE resources HUB team member, Abby. These events are a great opportunity to connect with emerging leaders and gain insight into the future of the industry.
